A little bit about me

I'm Holly. Optimist, gym rat, herbivore, workaholic, wanna-be homesteader, wife, and mom of 2 humans + 2 dogs.

Career

I am the Director of Developer Education at PlanetScale, a MySQL database platform. I'm incredibly lucky to have this job. It's the perfect combination of nearly all of my favorite things in life: coding, writing, reading, learning, education, data analysis, brand, and heavy decision making.

I still cannot believe this role exists and that all of the decisions I've made in my life have somehow led me here. Truly, unbelievably grateful.

Things that bring me joy

• The feeling of smashing through a heavy set of deadlifts
• First sip of a perfect espresso in the morning (I even roast my own beans!)
• Watching my toddler's face light up when he gets excited about something
• Fantasy books, movies, decor – basically anything magical. Give me all the faeries and goblins.
• Chill hiking/foraging (do not make me trek up a mountain as fast as possible, I wanna look at the trees and birds and plants)
• Getting lost in apocalytpic/post-apocalyptic, dystopian, and fantasy books
• Cooking huge feasts for friends and family (I love taking on the entire Thanksgiving dinner for everyone)
